Tricia Philpott, E-RYT
Tricia Is the owner and lead teacher at Elephant Tree Yoga Studio. She has dedicated her life to studying, practicing, and teaching yoga. She is an E-RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance and leads teacher trainings and yoga retreats in the most beautiful places in the world.
Tricia’s love for yoga shines through her when she is teaching and her passion is contagious. Her classes are invigorating and inspirational and she gives fully of herself each and every practice she leads. Tricia is also a gifted storyteller who weaves the teachings of yoga into her classes in an authentic and relatable way that encourages connection and growth. Tricia feels blessed to have found her purpose and to be able to share her knowledge and wisdom. You will feel cared for under her guidance.
Tricia graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in hotel, restaurant and travel administration. She moved to California for a few years managing restaurants for the Chart House Company. Tricia’s dad got sick and she returned to Magnolia, Mass. and helped care for her father. She soon realized that her real passion and interest was to promote healthy living.
Tricia has been working in the health and wellness industry for 26 years. She started as a personal trainer, then went on to teach group exercise in the 90’s. When she discovered yoga, and felt the powerful and profound healing effects it had on her during a difficult transition, she was hooked. Tricia spent all of her time and energy, studying and practicing yoga. In 2001, she received her 200-hour teaching certification with FRA in Wellesley Mass. In 2004, Tricia opened a hot power yoga studio on the North Shore. In 2005, Tricia completed the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute teacher training under Baron Baptiste, Coeli Marsh, and Gregor Singleton. In 2010, she became a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance after completing another 200-hour teacher training with Divine Play Yoga.
Tricia believes that in order to be an effective teacher, you must always be a student. She travels around the country studying with the greatest teachers. Tricia has been inspired by and continues to study under Rod Stryker of Para Yoga. She practices regularly at the Baptiste studio in Boston.
When she’s not practicing or teaching yoga, Tricia enjoys cycling, photography, and walking her big yellow lab Mason on the beach or in the woods. Tricia lives on Great Neck in Ipswich, Mass.
Tricia’s greatest love, pride and joy is being a mom to her sons DJ and Alex Porter.
