Erin Turner, RYT 200
“It is not Joy that makes us Grateful. It is Gratitude that makes us Joyful”. -David Steindl-Rast
15 years ago, Erin Turner was dragged, kicking, and screaming, to a yoga class by her sister. She swore she’d never go back, yet something in her knew she needed a change. A young mother who was working full-time as a special needs teacher in the local public schools, she had plenty on her plate. And yet, there was something calling her, and she committed to giving yoga a try for three months. She never stopped.
Yoga became a tool to use when life inevitably got hard. When Erin’s son grew very ill, yoga gave her the tools to work through difficult times and handle life’s pain, sorrows, and suffering. More importantly, through yoga, she learned to find joy in every day, good, bad, or indifferent. For Erin, yoga is more than just knowing how to do a pose. Yoga taught her gratitude, empathy, forgiveness, and joy. Practicing yoga has become an integral part of her life. Erin leads a skilled yoga class using compassion as her guide. Her calm but strong energy makes her an exceptional teacher with so much to offer.
Erin completed her 200-hour teacher training with Tricia Philpott at Elephant Tree Yoga. Erin is also a Certified Herbalist. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her kids, husband, two dogs and a cat, exploring nature and new places, cooking and talking about herbs.
